Admissions

The school admits children from Hampton Lucy, Charlecote and other nearby communities. Currently some children also attend our school from villages outside our catchment area and we are always pleased to welcome prospective parents who feel that a small village school would be the most suitable for their child.

If you live in Warwickshire and your child is due to start school in the September following their 4th birthday, it is now possible for you to apply online at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/admissions.  For further information please contact the School Admissions Department on 01926 414143.

Children are admitted to our school at the beginning of the Academic Year in which they are five. There are several opportunities during the preceding year for the children and parents to visit us and familiarise themselves with the school, including a series of mornings in school for the new admissions. An Induction Booklet of information is given to parents.

The new Reception children start school for mornings only in the early weeks.  Full–time attendance usually begins at the end of September, if the parents and teacher agree that the child is ready. This ensures a smooth transition from home to school.

Other children new to the school may be admitted to older year groups, if there is a vacancy.

Please see the following link from Warwickshire County Council that outlines Admissions for 2020/21.

Nursery Admissions

Many prospective Reception children attend our nursery which runs from 9.00am to 12.00, lunchtime 12.00 to 1.15pm and afternoons for 1.15pm to 3.15 pm and is co-located with Reception in the original school building. Applications are accepted for the term following a child’s 3rd birthday. We have 10 places, please contact the office for current availability. Families with 3 and 4 year old children are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare or early education provision for 38 weeks a year. For some working families, a further 15 hours of free childcare or early education provision is available, also covering 38 weeks a year. Children are able to attend for more hours than they are funded for, with any additional hours charged at £4.00 per hour (September 2021).

Show Rounds

At Hampton Lucy C of E Primary School and Nursery we like to offer prospective parents a personal appointment where they can visit the school and be shown around by two of our Year 6 children.

This gives parents the opportunity to ask children their views and see the school on a normal working day. This is followed with a personal meeting with the Headteacher to discuss the provision and how we can meet the needs of your child as an individual.
