Sports

We endeavour to offer our pupils the best opportunities in PE and sport to inspire them to adopt a healthier lifestyle and maybe even produce the next global sporting superstar!

At each Key stage pupils will be given plenty of opportunity to develop, practice and evaluate performance in Physical Education. By offering a diverse curriculum we motivate all pupils and support them in reaching their full potential.

As part of its Olympic legacy plan, the Government has provided finance to schools which is ring-fenced for the provision of sport and physical education. This was in excess of £8300 in the financial year 2018/2019 and is projected to be similar for the financial year 2019/2020. We have used this funding to buy into the real PE programme: a unique, child centred approach that transforms how we teach PE to include, challenge and support EVERY child. It is fully aligned to the National Curriculum and Ofsted requirements and focuses on the development of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning in PE.

The Kineton Schools Sport Cluster

We take part in competitions planned and delivered by the ‘School Games Organisers’ (SGOs) at Kineton High School to inspire our children to be physically active for life through positive experiences of daily activity and competition.

The 8 competitions open to primary schools are:

 Yr. 1/2 Infant Agility
KS1 Dance
KS2 Dance
Yr. 3/4 Pentathlon
Yr. 5/6 Pentathlon
KS2 SEND Athletics
Yr. 3/4 Football
Yr. 5/6 Football

With everyone staying at home, we recognise that keeping active is really important for both our children’s physical and mental wellbeing.

Keep updated with important diary dates throughout the school year
